October, ink, dip pen and nib challenge.
My first fully executed InkTober. Served daily, smeared with ink on fingers (and everything around really), obediently loaded on Facebook, Instagram, and Tweeter. So - I got sucked in. Because it was a great pleasure. Despite the numerous inconveniences.
Before October I had a big break and did not draw at all, so I entered this InkTober in torment. I uploaded the first drawing with gnashing my teeth, but explaining to myself that there is no wonder about the poor results of sweating, it is a fair punishment for the sin of neglect, and I have to publish it anyway, otherwise to many of my flaws will join also beeing a total slacker. Then it was a little easier. Slowly my hand was losing its stiffness and I was starting to remember something from the technical secrets of my dip pens and nibs. I experienced only two nervous breakdowns, so not too bad. But it's really hard to keep up with the tempo. Especially if you have a sick ambition to stick to the official prompt list and you think about its topics on the same day you should publish (well, why to prepare yourself in advance? adrenaline jumps are so great). Immediately after uploading a photo of the work from the current day, I began to think about the next subject and it patronized all everyday activities. However, using the official list has its charms - it forces you to think about new things and gets you out from comfort zone. So, only twice, when I was really tired and overwhelmed, I ignored the list.
Technically it was varied, on the amplitudes between the total exhaustion of the hand and eye and the illusory high, that I discovered all the tricks, I have full control over what I do, and all is wonderful. To sum up - strongly surprised! - I see some progress. And after finishing the satisfaction is huge. As a surprise that I could discipline myself that much, and in general - I did it, jeay! And here I have to bow firmly and vigorously, thanking for all the support from people - friends and strangers, who can give a fantastic drive to work. There is nothing like hunger for likes and fame. It's a great pleasure to make new virtual friends with companions of InkTober's misery from all over the world, encourage and support them, and watch how much progress they are making.
During this month, I was grumbling around, I was sleepy, tired and frustrated, and I'm still massaging all my sitsores, but I recommend InkTober with a clear conscience to anyone who wants to learn regularity, how to think about a given topic, get to know specific ink requirements and who wants to overcome their uncertainties. I made several works that I am really happy with, several that I would like to improve or develop, several quite indifferent and a few which authorship I will deny more than three times at the first opportunity. Generally, it's all just great fun. And I even managed to win something ;)
